Happy 19th Birthday!

Happy 19th Birthday Dillon!!! WOW...that is just crazy that my third child is 19 years old today. I can remember like it was yesterday. As most of my followers are from the States, here in Canada, 19 is the legal drinking age, so we are off to the bar tonight with our son...hehehehe

I asked my son this question last night and his response was 12. My own response, 16 on a good day, 18 on a bad day....I guess you are only as old as you feel? I would really like to hear from people...please let me know, how old would you be??

I hope everyone has a great weekend. There is the big yarn/spinning show in town tomorrow...guess you know where I will be?? LOL.

Until next timexxooDebbie

A face only a mother could love?

Well it is almost April!!!! Yah!! Springtime is coming! Spring is my favourite time of the year and it is dragging its ass this year? Well Dillon's birthday is in a couple of weeks and instead of making granny squares for his mushroom blanket, the craft A.D.D. has kicked in again and I have been dabbling in other things. OMG how cute is this little bandana? We are going to Mark's "new father's" house on Sunday and I am going to make one in pink for his little poodle Victoria...hehehehe.
Gotta love that little snaggle tooth!!
I hope everyone is having a great week and enjoying the sunshine!

Yarn Challenge Time Again!

It's that time of year again. Soper Creek Yarn Store is holding its annual yarn challenge. If you follow my blog you will remember last year I made the Olympic ring scarf. Well this year we have four colours to work with and of course I couldn't resist making an owl. So if you are in the Bowmanville area, go and vote for my owl!!! Thanks!
I hope everyone is having a great week!

I'm Back!

WARNING: Picture overload. Of course they are in no particular order because I still haven't figured out how to put them in order...lol.

Florida was awesome!! The weather was beautiful everyday. Mark got to go to the Daytona 500 Race-check that off his bucket list!!! My daughter got married!!! We went to Disney, Harry Potter World, Universal Studios and then unfortunately, we had to come home to the cold again. A week is definitely not long enough :( I am saving my pennies to go again next year!!!

We got home safe and sound and throughout the week all four of us ended up with the flu! What a way to end a vacation?

Yes we are tourists...lol...We have never seen a pringles machine before...hehehe

I am still in long sleeves and jeans...had just starting shedding the winter coat and boots. LOL!

The pool at the house.

My daughter's wedding day!

The house...sooooooo nice!

Me and Mark♥

No explanation needed? hehehe

Welcome to Kwik-E-Mart

I hope everyone is having a great week. I am finally starting to feel back to "normal"

Needle felting!!!

Oh my goodness I have found a new craft!! I guess it has something to do with my craft ADD? Anyway, on Sunday I went into a wool spinning store in town and I had heard about needle felting and watched a couple of you tube videos on it and thought what the heck, let's give it a whirl. So you buy the wool like this below...I don't know the technical name but anyway I wanted to make a little sheep so bought some white and black and the girl sold me two needles in case I break one. The total was $4.50 for the whole lot! How cool is that? So you shape your wool into balls, logs, whatever shape you need and all you do is start poking with the needle...that's it! I guess the poking of the needle makes all the fibres nat together? Anyway, I am not really sure I like the face of my sheep but hey, my first attempt...it may look funny but I really like the needle felting!
This is just a little sample of the wool...I had a bag full.
And of course my pictures are out of order...just can't seem to get the knack of getting them in the right order? any suggestions? So I got this picture off of google images...how cute are these?

Here is the progress so far...I am not finished with him/her yet but this is what I have accomplished so far...a little sad looking but it was fun to make!

Again, pictures out of order and found on google images...hmmm...I am thinking a cupcake or an owl next?
So funny story, the lady that sold me this stuff is holding a workshop today at the Seniors Centre in town and told me to come...okay first off, do I look like a senior??? I hope not!!!! But I phoned the Seniors Centre yesterday and they said sure come, no problem that you aren't old enough...so I am heading there today to learn flat needle felting...I can't wait!
PS-9 more days until Florida!!!!!!
Hope everyone is having a great week so far!!!

It's hip to be square!

I was blog hopping again and came across this blanket. I think it is the coolest thing! It's all done in granny squares!!! I am going to make it for Dillon for his birthday. Two weeks today and we leave for Florida!!! I am getting super excited now!! I think this would be the perfect project to bring along with me.

Cupcake Room?

Well first off, I apologize for being a bad blogger lately. But really, I am not even sure anyone is reading this anymore?? LOL...so for the handful that are still reading...I have finally decided on colours for my spare room!!! Only took a year!!!! Brown and pink....Of course my youngest son said it looks like a cupcake??...hmmm...subconscious decision?? I just have a little sneak peek for now as we (and by we, I mean my hubby) still have to put trim down, etc. etc. So I will post the finish room soon I hope!

I saw this scallop design a year or so ago while blog hopping (sorry can't remember from which blog) and I really thought it was cool. I think Mark did an amazing job!!!! Thanks honey!!!
So of course now I am inspired to make an afgan for the new room. As many of you know, I am new to crocheting but am "hooked". I just love these little squares. I will keep you posted as to the progress.
20 more days until we leave for Florida!!!!!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
