Happy 23rd Anniversary!!!

Look what I got this morning!!! How pretty is that? Happy Anniversary Honey!
On May 1, 1987 Mark and I started our life together....on May 1, 2005 we finally tied the knot! I really didn't want to rush into anything the second time around...hehehehe...plus as I keep telling him, I really don't have time to try and train somebody else...LOL...just kidding honey!! I am very fortunate to have met my sole mate, my other half, and my best friend! It is official, he has now lived with me half my life!!! Here's to another 23+++ years together! I love you sweetie!

Five years ago today it was sooooooooooo cold! As you can see how we are hudled together, not because we love each other but we were freezing and trying to stay warm!!! LOL...We are off to Toronto today to have dinner and go see Mamma Mia!!!

Random Facts Wednesday!

I hope everyone is having a great week! I am so excited for Saturday! It is our Anniversary and we are going out for dinner and then going to see Mamma Mia!!!!

FACTS
1. My friend and I got caught shoplifting two days after my 12th birthday. We had to go down to the police station and everything! Scared the crap out of me so much I never did it again! LOL
2. I was a tomboy growing up-I would play with snakes, bugs, cars, etc.
3. I used to be an apprentice hairdresser.
4. I wrote a children's book in 1989 but have been too afraid to send it to a publisher...(fear of rejection I think).
5. I was hit by a car three times!

Family Pics!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend? We had everyone over this weekend to celebrate the birthdays. We tried to get some "family pictures". I bought a beautiful frame on Boxing Day and it is hanging on my livingroom wall with the pictures that came with it...LOL!!! I thought wouldn't it be great to get all of us together for some pictures so I can take the family I don't know out of the frame and put my family in it.....but.....after this experience, I realize why we haven't had professional family portraits done since 1992...LOL...

Happpy Earth Day....Happy Birthday!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Well another year has come and gone and now this is what 46 looks like?? YIKES!!! Did I actually admit to that? huh! I don't understand how I got this old when inside I feel around 16 and on a bad day maybe 18???? Everyday I see new little lines changing the appearance of my face, I am visiting the hairdresser a little more often to get rid of those nasty grey hairs that keep popping up. Every now and then a new ache and pain will just come out of nowhere? They say you are only as old as you feel, well like I said, my mind is young, now if only my body would cooperate and stay young?

Happy 18th Birthday Dillon!!!

Wow...I can't believe my third child is 18!!! My little "miracle" baby. Well all 4 of my children are miracles but Dillon is definitely up there. According to the nurses we both had about 2 more minutes and we probably wouldn't have made it. I will try and condense this story especially for those who already know it!

On the morning of April 15, 1992 I woke up and went to the bathroom and thought that my water broke. What seemed like 10 minutes had passed, I realized that it wasn't my water and that it was blood. My placenta had ruptured away and Dillon was getting no oxygen or blood supply, not to mention I was hemorrhaging to death! I phoned Mark who in turn pretty much yelled at me to phone 911! I phoned 911 and by then had sat down and was feeling much better and told them not to come and that I would wait for my husband to come home? (duh! shock I think). The ambulance arrived and my husband who was 45 minutes away at work showed up in 20 minutes (the poor car never ran the same again). I was rushed to the hospital (45 minutes away) where many nurses were running around and putting IVs in, catheters in, etc. and I was holding the fetal monitor on my belly when suddenly there was no heart beat! Mark's face went as white as a sheet and he ran out in the hall yelling at the surgeon!! I was rushed into the OR where I had an emergency c-section under a general anesthetic and didn't know what I was going to wake up to? Within an hour of his delivery (all 5 pounds of him), they detected the heart problem (nothing to do with the placenta, happened at conception). He was then shipped to Sick Kid's in Ottawa. The next few days are pretty much a blur to me (thanks to the Morphine drip). I finally got to see my son 3 days later when I got a day pass from the hospital. He was so tiny and blue and the medication they had him on made his bones hurt if he was moved or touched. I never saw his eyes open until he was almost 2 weeks old. I got to take him home when he was almost 3 weeks old. What a strange feeling, leaving the hospital without your baby?

He has since undergone 3 open heart surgeries, numerous cardiac catheterizations and has received, donor valves, pig valves, mesh wire (he calls it chicken wire), and now he has the main artery from a cow in him (as he likes to say, he has the whole farm). He will still have to undergo more surgeries in his life but for now he is doing great!!!

Craft Swap Done!!!

Good Monday everyone! Well I am finished all 31 of my crafts for the craft swap!!! phew! I am so excited to get them all done and can't wait to see what everyone has made!!!

I hope everyone's weekend was good. We had a great weekend. We went to Tiffany's house on Saturday for dinner and Mallory's house on Sunday for dinner!!! It is a little surreal going to "visit" my kids?? I am sure I will get used to it.

Can you guess what I made for the swap??? LOL!

I just thought I would share some pretty cool knitting tattoos..I am so wanting to get a new tattoo really soon! I don't have links for these. I just went on google images this weekend!

Random Facts Wednesday!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far...I am so glad it is Wednesday already! I think I need a vacation or maybe an early retirement...lol

1. One of my all time favourite movies is Now and Then...I think my girls and I have watched it about 100+ times. We know every line word for word.
2. I collect Precious Moments figurines.
3. I have over 100 beanie babies (my retirement fund) lol.
4. I have an obsession with scented lotions...I have some in the kitchen, in my purse, in the bathroom, at my desk, in my bedroom, in the recroom...well you get the idea...they are all over the house!
5. I don't know the last time I wore a dress, come to think of it, do I even own a dress?
Well here is my attempt at a panda coffee cozy. I guess it turned out okay? It looks a little wonky, but I guess I can work on that...hehehehe.

♥Cupcakes♥

I hope everybody had a great Easter Weekend! We had a great weekend, the weather was fabulous, dinner was good. The only downfall was on Friday I checked my online banking and discovered a bunch of charges on my Visa!!! I guess somebody got a hold of my visa number via the internet and went on a shopping spree....I am happy to report that as of this morning all those charges have been credited back on my visa! Phew!

Look what I got in the mail today from the lovely Janel!!!! Isn't it fabulous?!! I am going to put it in a frame and hang it in my new "craft room", whenever that gets finished. I do finally have the colours picked out though, so I guess it's a start! It looks just like me! Thanks Janel!!!♥
My mom came over for Easter dinner and she brought gifts...I was so excited. She made this apron and pot holders with cupcake material!!!!! It is so nice I don't want to use them. She had to order the material on line and wait for it to sit at Customs forever! Again, I wish I could sew? LOL....
