HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Happy New Year!! I cannot believe another year has come and gone? It just seems like a couple of months ago I posted my goals for 2010? I just went back and looked at my goals and it seems I wasn't too successful :( I did accomplish a couple so I guess it wasn't a total bust? Let's hope 2011 is a little better for me. I have tried to keep my list simple and obtainable this year?

1. Exercise - Seriously, I need to move! I sit at this computer day in and day out and I feel like I have the computer attached to me. I am dedicating a block of time each day to exercise. For January I am going to be using my recumbent bike (as the weather sucks!) and log in my miles for the whole month of January...let's hope I get far...."they" say you can develop a habit in 21 days...we will see? I will keep you posted weekly of my mileage!

2. Clean House - OMG my house is in shambles. Like I have said numerous times, once I quit my job and decided to work from home, my house has never been in worse shape (the computer stuck to me syndrome). Again, I have made up a schedule to clean my house and get laundry up-to-date, etc. I have already started going through some rooms and ditching stuff before you see my on that show Hoarders!!! I have dedicated one day a week to pick a room and totally get rid of stuff together with the cleaning schedule...keeping fingers crossed on this one!

3. Paying off debt - Once we get back from Florida, I am following a rigid budget I have made to get our credit cards paid off!!! 49 more days to Florida!!!

That is all for now as I do have a few more but they are a little too personal to share.

Happy New Year Everyone...I hope everyone has a great night tonight!!!!
Until next timexxooDebbie

2 MORE DAYS!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

OMG 2 more days...I am finally ready other than picking up some food tonight at the grocery store!!! I hope everyone else is ready? So last night we went to the bargain shop and look what I picked up!!! I saw this and had to have it...his body is a ball of wool....how cute is that???? And he was only $3.47!!!!!!

I went to my friend's house again today and we did our nails....except for some of the nail polish on my skin...hehehehe...I think they are adoreable!!!!
Well I probably won't be back until after Christmas so I am wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Granny squares everywhere!

So I have been blog hopping and I keep seeing all these granny square blankets which has inspired me to make my own. This is what I accomplished yesterday. I don't think it is going to take very long to finish this up!

For anyone who follows my blog, this yarn may look familiar. I ripped out a blanket that I started working on months and months ago and was taking forever to finish so now I am recycling it!!!
How cute is this star garland? I found this pic on google images and thought I would try and make one myself. It only took me about 1/2 hour to finish! So I was thinking...how cute would it be to get some Christmas yarn (red, green, white sparkle) and make a garland to string up around my house?

I hope everyone is having a great week so far and getting ready for Christmas! Only 10 more days!!!
Until next time xxooDebbie

12 More Days!!!

12 More Days until Christmas?? wow!! I haven't even bought any gifts yet...(well a couple here and there). We are taking Thursday off and going shopping. I am not coming home until I am done!! LOL!
I am trying to get into the spirit. We went to our friends house on Saturday for dinner along with another couple from the campground so I made a couple of cards for them. (Taken from my cell phone so the quality isn't that great!)
After dinner we all went for a walk around the corner from my friend's house. OMG I have never ever seen anything like this in my life!!!! These two houses kinda put Clarke Griswold to shame wouldn't you think? I can't imagine their hydro bill???
Yes there is a house behind there somewhere? It's kinda like find Waldo...but find the house?

You can't really see it but out the front somewhere, there is a train set going around and around and a digital countdown until Christmas. It was unbelieveable!!! Apparently these two houses are in competition with each other every year and every year more and more stuff gets put out! If that doesn't put you in the Christmas spirit, I don't know what would?? LOL!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Until next time xxooDebbie

Casserole #4 - Tuna Casserole

Last nights casserole was a hit...of course I knew it would be...my kids and big kid (Mark) love it! This casserole recipe was given to me from a friend of mine when we were 12. I made it one night for my parents and I was so proud! LOL!

1 can tuna (drained)
1 can peas (drained)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 pkg of macaroni (KD)
broken up plain chips

Boil macaroni and drain. Add remaining ingredients except chips and mix together. Add broken chips on top. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Enjoy!

Well casserole week is now over for me. Tomorrow is takeout night!!! Thank goodness!
I hope everyone is having a great day!

Casserole #3 - Tater Tot Casserole

Well last nights casserole was good...everyone seemed to really enjoy it. I think I would prefer a reuben sandwich! So tonights casserole is one of my old standbys. About 10 years ago I got this recipe from a fellow transcriptionist from the States. Apparently this is quite common there, not so much up here? Here it is:

1 pound hamburger
1 onion chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
shredded cheese
package of tater tots
seasoning salt

Cook hamburger and onions until no longer pink. Put beef in casserole dish and add soup and some shredded cheese (as much as you want-maybe 1/2-3/4 cup?). Put tater tots on top of beef mixture and sprinkle with seasoning salt and more shredded cheese. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes (until tater tots are no longer frozen and golden brown). This is a big hit with my kids!

I hope everyone is enjoying casserole week?

Casserole #2 - Reuben Casserole

Well last nights casserole was a success!! My hubby went on and on about it and how I have to make it again!

For today's casserole, I searched the internet. My family LOVES reuben sandwiches so I found this one and hopefully it is a success as well. I would think you would have to be a fan of sauerkraut to want to try this one!

Here we go:

1/2 to 1 pound of corned beef, cooked, diced or sliced (I just bought corned beef in deli)
1/4 cup Thousand Island salad dressing
1 can or bag sauerkraut (16 ounces) drained
1/2 pound shredded Swiss cheese (I just used Swiss cheese slices bought in deli)
6 slices rye bread crumbled
1/4 cup butter, melted

Place corned beef in a lightly greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Dot with the dressing. Spread sauerkraut over top; sprinkle with cheese (or lay cheese slices on top). Toss crumbled rye bread with the butter then sprinkle over top. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes until hot and bubbly.

Well stayed tuned for tomorrow! LOL!!!
Hope everyone is having a great week so far?
Until next time xxooDebbie

Casserole Week!

We are gonna have a bit of fun this week. When we were having dinner on Friday, my youngest son challenged me to a week of nothing but casseroles? Challenge accepted!!! We do not have casseroles very often and when I say not very often, I mean only a couple of times a year so this should prove to be interesting! I have picked an old standby, one out of my head, a new one off the internet and one I haven't made since I was 12!

Day one- Rigatoni casserole (for some reason the pics wouldn't load in order for me?)

I just made this recipe out of my head so here goes.

1 pound hamburger
1 onion chopped
1/2 green pepper - diced
1/2 red pepper - diced
a few mushrooms cut up
1 zuccini - diced
2-3 garlic gloves-minced
spagetti sauce (your choice)
1/2 package of rigatoni
mozzarella cheese - as much as you want!

Boil rigatoni according to directions. Fry hamburger with onion, peppers, garlic, mushrooms, zuccini until hamburger is no longer pink. Add spagetti sauce and cooked rigatoni. Shred some cheese in mixture and stir until all mixed. Put in casserole dish and shred more cheese on top. Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes until cheese on top is melted.

I hope everyone is having a great Monday!
Until next time xxooDebbie

Three Weeks Today!!!

This is what happened in my neck of the woods the other day!!! It was raining when I took the boys to school, I went downstairs to work and when I came upstairs, this is what it looked like!! I DO NOT like snow at all!!!

I am trying to get into the Christmas spirit. My house is decorated, my hubby is putting up the outdoor lights right now and I went to my neighbours the other day and we did our nails...cute eh? Still, it does not feel like Christmas is in three weeks!!! Yikes, maybe when I am done shopping and baking I will feel more in the spirit??
77 more days until Florida!!!! How much weight can one lose in 77 days? especially with Christmas dinner and goodies all month long?? hmmm...not much I would think?
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am off for a double date tonight!!! Yippee!!!
Until next time xxooDebbie

Cupcake overload!!

I am having a cupcake overload with these orders and if anyone knows me or has read my blog, you all know I suffer from ADHD when it comes to crafts...so....of course I have been working on other things as well??? I don't know why I do this to myself...I think I like to work well under pressure maybe?? LOL!
I am halfway done the cupcakes...42 of them done...42 more to go!!! YIKES!!!!
I have no clue what made me decide to make these little mitts, other than how adoreable are they? I guess they will be new additions to my tree?

Santa hat for a baby? Wishful thinking? hehehe...I guess I will just put it away and hope for one day? lol!!!!

Okay just practicing with the crocheting but again...a baby hat? Maybe I am trying to send signals to my girls??? hehehehe (just kidding girls... or am I?) lol!!!!
I hope everyone is having a great week and getting their Christmas things together. I have my tree up, inside of house decorated, doing the cookie thing on Monday with Mallory....is there something missing...oh yes...SHOPPING!!!! Oh my goodness, I have no clue where the time is going...I have the 16th booked off to go shopping...nothing like leaving it to the last minute??? I have never been so busy in a November/December before?
Until next time xxooDebbie
