My 6 foot yarn winder!

Hi Everyone! I hope your weekend is going good? We are heading out to my hubby's work Christmas Party tonight?? ya I know Christmas party (too crazy). This is just great for the diet as they put on one heck of a spread of food! Wish me luck!!

I just thought I would share how patient and loving my husband is to me...although the look on his face totally does not show that he is impressed but he is just showing off for the camera! He has been my yarn winder for a while now and today we had to wind 6 skeins of yarn! I suppose I could buy a yarn winder but look at the bonding time we get to spend together? hehehe Isn't he so sweet! LOL!

Let's love our CURVES!

Yes I know I need to lose weight, in fact, I have been battling the bulge for the last 25 years. I need to lose weight to be healthy and to feel good about myself, etc., but let's face it, after 4 children, 2 of whom were c-sections, a hysterectomy, being over 40, that dam metabolism, etc. I have to take a step back and realize there is no way I am ever going to have the body I had when I was a teenager! So with that said, I am still on my journey to lose weight and feel healthier but we have to love ourselves regardless of our size and learn to love our curves, cause real women do have curves!!

Random Facts Wednesday

In honour of my 13 followers...YAH!!! Thank you so much for following me!!! I have decided to do "Random Facts Wednesday" so you can get to know me a little better. I am going to list 5 random facts about me on Wednesdays, just crazy things that pop into my head (which is certainly a scary place to be...lol).

1. I absolutely hate croutons...gag me!
2. I am petrified of heights.
3. I am very superstitious, if somebody spills the salt shaker I run over and throw it over my shoulder! lol
4. My favourite colour is purple!
5. I am addicted to the soap All My Children.

So during my soap today I knit up this little hat. It is suppose to be for a wine bottle, pictured above, but I really don't like wine (I actually had to dust off the bottle before I took the picture...lol). I am now working on the matching scarf to wrap around the bottle. How cute would that be as a gift for somebody who loves wine!
I think it would be so cute to knit a bunch of these up and decorate a little Christmas Tree, or maybe make it a little smaller and put a pin on the back of it to wear. Hope everyone is having a great week! ♥

Monday Weigh-In

Well again I am the same weight! I think I have mastered maintaining my weight, now if I could just get a handle on losing it, it would be great! I suppose I shouldn't complain too much after the weekend I had?? We all went to Mallory's for dinner on Saturday and we had a great time. Dinner was fabulous and I made my famous lemon/raspberry tart (hmmm wonder why I haven't lost any weight??LOL). It was so great spending some family time with just our 4 kids (plus significant others). After dinner we played Cranium. I am looking forward to doing it again...(hint hint Mallory...anytime you wanna make dinner, it is fine with me). LOL

I am suppose to be working today but the computer system was down, so I had some down time as well. I thought I would be productive and made this cupcake wrist warmer to match my cupcake scarf.

Dinner Saturday Night!

The famous lemon/raspberry tart!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Here's to a more successful weight loss week for me!

It's a small world!

What a small world we live in. I just thought I would share what happened to me the other day. So I am on facebook and some girl I went to high school with added me as a friend, which is great, I have quite a few people I went to high school with on there. So once I have confirmed she is my friend, I start looking around at her pictures. I see her and 3 other girls at some dinner or something and I see one of the girl's names! OMG! This girl used to be my best friend from kindergarten to grade 4, then I moved away! I have not seen her since I was 10! I have moved around quite a lot...I do believe the last count was 30+ times so I don't have a lot of friends from my school days! I ended up sending her a message and asked if she was the same girl with the birthday of June 9...(she must think I am some weirdo stalker or something) I actually remember her birthday, I can't remember what I had for dinner last night, but I can remember a friend's birthday from kindergarten. It is so strange the things we remember! So she writes me back OMG yes it is here, she has a vague recollection of who I am but then again it has been 35 years! (did I just write that down?? omg! I am getting old). Well anyway I dug up this old picture of her and her brother. I am the one on the right...dark haired one! Just thought I would share♥ (PS...sorry about the pic...obviously my scanning abilities suck!) LOL.

The obsession continues.....

Okay I can't stop painting♥ I am enjoying it and it is so relaxing, besides, my new craft room is going to be so pretty! Okay speaking of my craft room, we are all going to my daughter's new house for dinner on Saturday (so exciting) and she called and asked if we could bring the rest of her stuff that's in her room with us!!! (not that I am glad to see you leave Mallory...) but now I can start with the craft room!!! So I need your help...I need ideas? I have a blank canvas to work with and I don't know if I want to paint the walls all one colour or do every wall a different colour, etc. I would love some ideas (please)? How would you decorate your craft room if you could do anything?

Here is another artist trading card just to give you an idea of how small they are. Those are little bottles of paint she is leaning against. I am still searching the web for an artist trading card swap?

Artist Trading Cards - Monday Weigh-In

MONDAY WEIGH-IN
Okay we will get this over with! I am down 1 pound! Yah...one pound in two weeks was really not the results I was looking for but I guess it is better than gaining. I found the most awesome app for my i-pod touch. It is called lose it! You input how much you weigh, how much you want to lose and how many pounds a week you want to lose with a maximum of 2...then it figures out how many calories you should eat a day...you put in what you eat and it figures out the calories and if you exercise, there is a spot for that to tell you how many calories you have burned. Pretty cool little gadget to have! I am hoping it will help. It is amazing how many calories a day you consume without even realizing it!! YIKES!

Okay now on to Artist Trading Cards! I went to the art store on the weekend for some more canvases and found these little guys..of course I had to buy them. I have been on the web searching all about them and would love to join an artist trading card swap. I think that would be so cool to join swaps and have "little artist trading cards" of people's art as a collection!!!!

I bought this stamp from www.stampingbella for the back of the trading cards.
I was just playing around today to see if I could draw one of my girls on such a small space. This was coloured in with my copic markers to see how it looked?? Not sure if I am liking it, I think I will be painting my next one!

Until next time xxooDebbie

Two more for the craft room!

I have painted two more "lovely's" for the craft room! I am obsessed with painting right now. It is so relaxing! I am not sure how I am decorating my room yet but I do know I want these girls on the walls with their positive attitudes!
**Down 1/2 pound this morning...Whoot Whoot! hehehehe

Lace, cables and dreams!

The other day my friend sent me an e-mail with pics of treehouses. I so want to live in one of these!!!

I think this one is my fav! Who wouldn't want to live in this house and get up every morning with that view? but until then.....

I will freeze my butt off in this cold and continue to knit warm things. I bought this wool with my gift certificate a few weeks ago and it is soooo cozy! There is a lace and cable pattern that will go all the way up the scarf...I think I will be adding it to my "inventory" for my soon to be Etsy store! I think I am giving myself a month to get some stuff made and get it up and running!!

Monday Weigh-In

Okay I know it isn't Monday but I was so busy yesterday I forgot to post this...well okay not really forgot, just didn't want to post it...I have stayed the same..? I suppose I should be grateful for that as I really fell off the wagon this week. I really have to get focused because spring will be here before I know it and I will be sitting at the same weight frustrated and disappointed in myself yet again. Today is a new day and a new start...I am going to stay on track this week (keeping my fingers crossed!).

And the winners are??

Okay so I had two entries for names! One more than I thought I would get..LOL...then I got a last minute entry from my daughter and couldn't decide on who should win so EVERYONE IS A WINNER! I painted the redhead knitter because I think she suited crafty Chole and had decided the painter would be sassy Sally but after my daughter's entry of beautiful Bella, now I am confused? I am going to be painting another girl tomorrow and then I will decide which one is Bella and which one is Sally...LOL...so Jamie and Lindsay e-mail me your addresses (mhenriksen@cogeco.ca) so I can send you off your goodies! I thought I still had your address Jamie but I guess not and obviously I have my daughter's address! Congrats girls and thanks so much for participating!

Meet ????

Okay I need your help? I have painted this little lovely and I am not sure what name to give her? She will be the first in a series of girls that I am gonig to paint and put on my new craft room wall. So here is where I need your help, please put in the comments what you think her name should be and I will look at all 3 submissions (or maybe 1) and pick a winner! I will send that winner something that I am going to be selling on my future Etsy store (which I hope to open soon). I am sure the odds are going to be good...maybe 100% chance or maybe a 33% chance! LOL...Thanks so much! Oh almost forgot, I will be picking the winner on Sunday!

Bath puff...

My daughter wants me to make her some dishcloths for her new house. I find those so boring but will eventually get around to it...in the meantime, I thought how cute would this be for her new bathroom. I finish this up this morning in between working, well more crocheting than working. I don't think the picture does it justice but it does look really cool in person.
Okay so not to sure 2010 is turning out to be an awesome year yet? My friend phoned me the other day and her bf went out for a pack of cigarettes on Saturday and hasn't returned? Then my mother phoned and her husband went to work on Monday and two trustees came into the building, told everyone they have lost their job, changed the locks, as the company went bankrupt. Then my hubby came home last night and his stupid job that he had to go back to want to send him away for 4 months out of town!!!!!!!!!! Okay so that is the wave of 3, it can only get better from here on in. I did my Wii Biggest Loser yesterday and after 25 minutes of exercising, it had logged that I only burned 57 calories...hmmmm...will have to step it up a bit I suppose. Of course, I got on the scale this morning and what do you know, I have gained a pound. I am sure it will come off but I don't have the patience for weight loss, guess that's why I haven't succeeded in the past? I will keep at it though. I think I need some sunshine to brighten me up?
Until next time.. xxooDebbie

Finishing projects?

We changed our living room all around and it looks so much bigger. I have been cleaning house as we are going to be painting etc. and I found this! I haven't touched this in about 2 years. I brought it upstairs and it matches so good. So now it sits in my living room unfinished. I am hoping that every time I walk by I will pick it up and do a few rows to finally finish it...LOL...I don't really think I have too much more to go on it.

Until next time xxooDebbie

Monday Weigh-In

Weigh-In= ???

bust: 44"
waist: 44"
hips: 47.5"

Okay I have struggled all weekend whether or not I was going to post my weight or not and seeing I really only have 1-3 people reading this blog I suppose I could have but I have compromised and have given myself some incentive...On February 1st Monday weigh-in I will be posting my weight regardless so I am hoping that posting it for the world, or shall we say 3 people to see, I will have lost a bit of weight!

Okay so today was the first day of exercise and wouldn't you know it, we bought a new TV yesterday and I, being the technically challenged person that I am, could not figure out how to get the DVD player to work? But on a brighter note, I have not sat down today (except to watch All My Children). I have been cleaning my house, moving furniture, etc. so I am going to consider that my workout for today! I am getting a crash course tonight on how to get the DVD player to work! So we will see how the workout session goes tomorrow!

Couldn't help myself?

Okay I know one of my 2010 things to accomplish is to finish projects up but I had gift certificates for the wool store and couldn't resist buying a bunch of yarn! I got 10 balls of wool for this blanket, 2 balls of wool for cable scarf and the pattern and it ended up costing me $4!!!! SO EXCITING!! I figured this wouldn't take long, I finished these four squares last night while Mark put 4 closet doors up! I am making this blanket for my new craft room. Last week I picked up a daybed (super cheap) for my craft room....so this is going to go on the daybed. I was going to do a traditional granny square but I think I am liking these little guys better!
Tomorrow is weigh-in Monday and then we start on the diet and exercise routine! YIKES!
